Message a DPDT relay. A fault triggers a red LED in the gauge cluster, cuts power to my boost solenoid which brings me back to waste gate boost pressure, and puts a resistor in parallel with the boost solenoid to prevent a check engine light. That car is my DD and has seen a fair amount of track use. Depending on the conditions, I have been alerted to a problem by both the LED as well as the dramatic reduction in power. The tune I have flashed into my ECU relies on the water injection to maintain proper AFR under boost and at WOT. If I kept beating the car during a safe injection fault, I would likely cause damage to the engine. I've had plenty of warning when faced with failures and was able to simply power down the system and limit boost to wastegate levels until I could load my pump gas tune.

On the Z, the safe injection powers a relay that cuts power to the stepper motor of my blitz boost controller and lights a red LED on the dash. If I get the ambition to do so, I'll probably use the OEM boost solenoid connectors to induce a safety boost condition with the stock ECU to further the reach of the safety net. The Z is not tuned to rely on the water injection to maintain a safe AFR. A catastrophic failure of the water injection system will not grenade my engine.

WARNING: I lack industry backing
